FROSTBITE SERIES NOTICE OF RACE
When: Sundays, November 9, 16, 23, 30 and including Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27 (Lasers only).
NOTE: THE START DATE OF THE COOPER RIVER DREDGING PROJECT (UNKNOWN AS THIS NOR GOES OUT) MAY AFFECT THE SCHEDULE OF THE FROSTBITE SERIES
Registration opens at 9:30 each day and is required only on your first race day.
Skippers meeting at 10:30 AM on the first day or as needed..
First race at 11:00 each day. Six races are scheduled each day with no warning signals after 2 PM.
The Series will be governed by the current Racing Rules of Sailing, USSailing prescriptions, and class rules (except as as any of these are altered by this NOR and the Sailing Instructions). Non-class-legal sails may be used as long as they meet class measurement specifications.
The Series is open to Laser, Laser Radial, and Sunfish skippers who fill out an entry form and pay the required fee.
Note: Full Rig and Radial Laser skippers may be scored in their respective fleets using a smaller rig if they wish.
Also, if enough Radials are competing they may get a separate start. Otherwise, they will start with the Full rigs and be scored separately.
Entry fee: Lasers & Radials: $10 per day, or $40 for the series (no refunds if series is cut short)
Sunfish: $10 per day, or $30 for the series (no refunds if the series is cut short)
Triangles, Windward-leewards, and variations thereof.
The penalty for breaking a Part 2 rule will be one turn, including one tack and one jibe. (This changes RRS 44.1 and RRS 44.2).
For daily scoring the Low Point Scoring System (RRS A4.1) will apply except that one discard will be allowed only if s six races are completed. (This changes RRS A2). A minimum of two races will constitute a series for daily scoring.
For series scoring, daily positions will be totaled, allowing one discard if at least four race days (three for Sunfish)
are completed. A minimum of two race days will constitute a series for for overall scoring.
A maximum of 30 races are scheduled over five days.
For each day; the top three in each fleet.
For the series, the top five Full rigs; top three Radials; top three Sunfish; possible special awards.

John MacCausland wins ACC Laser Masters at Fishing Bay Yacht Club with all finishes in the top 3.
Cooper River's Brent Barbehenn took 4th in the U.S. Sailing Championship of Champions.
This highly competitive regatta pits U.S. North American, National, and World one design champions against each other in one design sailboats. The event this year was sailed in Thistles at Edgewater Yacht Club in Ohio. Brent has been dominating the East Coast Thistle Fall Series, so he is well prepared for this event.
Star World Champion, John MacCausland placed 7th in the Star Class North American Championship in Oxford MD.
John held his own with the rock stars of sailing including Torben Grael and Paul Cayard,
CRYC canoes and kayaks are only for adult club members over 18. Due to the colder water temperatures, CRYC canoes and kayaks will not be available
from November 1 until April 1.
